Portland's panzerotti โ light fried dough from Bari, Italy, filled with fresh mozzarella
Our Story
In Southern Italy, panzerotti are more than street food โ they're a tradition. Originating in Bari, the coastal capital of Puglia, these golden pockets of light pizza dough are folded around fresh mozzarella and chopped tomatoes, then fried until the outside shatters and the inside melts.
Since 2016, Bari Food Cart has brought that tradition to Portland's Killingsworth food cart pod. Owner-operated with a devotion to craft, every panzerotti is made to order โ never pre-made, never sitting under a heat lamp. The dough is light and airy. The mozzarella is fresh. The fry is golden.
And yes โ get here early for the cannoli. They sell out for a reason.
The cannoli blew my mind. And combined with the panzerotti, Bari was a tour de force in texture. I could live in the orange zest of the cannoli and that crispy edge of the panzerotti made me giddy.
